Angelia O'Neal

Founder & CEO


Ms. O’Neal has a passion for building strong families, entrepreneurship, empowering others, fashion and music. A native of Detroit, MI she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing from Eastern Michigan University. Upon graduation, Ms. O’Neal (formerly Angelia Clark) started a career in retailing as a Merchandising Manager for J.C. Penney, Inc. in Ann Arbor, MI. where she was the recipient of the most outstanding summer intern in Michigan Southeast region. In addition, Ms. O’Neal assisted with launching a fashion publication- “Fashion in & around Detroit”. Currently, Ms. O’Neal is pursing a Master of Business Administartion Degree in Acquisition and Contract Management.

 

Ms. O’Neal has served as a substitute teacher for Detroit Public Schools and later worked for a major mall developer—assisting with launching the mall’s website. Relocating to Atlanta in 2002, Ms. O’Neal began working at Greenbriar Mall as the Marketing Assistant and later became a Warm Spirit Consultant. Afterward, she was employed at the American Red Cross as the Minority Recruitment Representative for Metro Atlanta.

 

Ms. O’Neal also holds a diploma in Radio Broadcasting and is an experienced on-air radio announcer and board operator. Ms. O’Neal has received certificates from various entrepreneurial and business programs. Ms. O’Neal is also an experienced residential and commercial loan officer. Ms. O'Neal is the proud mother of two childern and is an active volunteer in the her community.  Currently, Ms. O’Neal serves as the Executive Director of M.E.N.S. Wear, Inc., oversees the daily operations and initiate program and business development for the organization.

 



 

 

Corey R Sutton Sr

H&R Block, District Manager


Corey was born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana.  Corey attended Indiana University where he majored in Business Management.  While attending Indiana University Corey was on the executive board of the Black Student Union and held the position as the Programming Director.  As the programming, Director Corey coordinated a series of lectures and concerts. Corey has been in retail management and restaurant management for over 22 years. In these two fields, Corey was able to establish student work-study programs with the Chicago Public School System and other work-study program for the handicapped.   For the last 10 years, Corey has held the position District Manager for H & R Block. Prior to relocating to Atlanta Corey was responsible for districts in Philadelphia, PA. Corey’s district serves the Southwest Atlanta Metro with 16 locations. 

 

 

  

Darwin Burks

Darwin Burks, co-founder and principal of Burks Enterprises LLC resides in West Atlanta with his wife, Shontel and their two children. Darwin provides consulting services of information technology and computer applications training. Shontel, his wife and business partner, provides quality online travel services. Darwin has managed numerous projects and has over 15+ years of technology experience and has the following technology industry certifications: A+, Network+, MCP, CNA (3x/4x), CCNA.

 

  

 

Greg Cox

American Cancer Society, Finance Manager


"Since moving here in 1996, Gregory Cox has been an active volunteer throughout Atlanta. Gregory is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and has spent years as a volunteer with Hands on Atlanta, serving as a Steering Committee member for HOA's Teamworks program. He recently served as 2008 Hands on Atlanta Day Volunteer Co-Chair. Gregory also serves as a member of the Black Alumni Council and the Department of Accounting Advisory Roundtable for the University of Tennessee. Gregory has also worked with The Home Depot.  Currently, Greg is the Finance Manager  for the American Cancer Society."

 

 

 

 

 

Travis Townsend

Travis T. Townsend, Jr., (age 30) has served as a Director of M.E.N.S. Wear, Inc. since December 2007. Mr. Townsend, an attorney with the law firm of Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, emerging companies and corporate finance.  He has been an active member of the Atlanta Urban League Young Professionals since January 2006, and serves as its Personal and Professional Development Committee Chairman.  Originally a native of Muskegon Heights, Michigan, he received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2000 and his J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law in 2003.  Mr. Townsend has been a Big Brother mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlanta since 2005.

Katina Raines

 As a native of Macon, Georgia, Katina acclaims family, church, and school established a strong foundation in her love for people and making a difference. Ms. Raines has over 15 years experience in Social Services and Workforce Development and enjoys working with the public. Katina currently works in the Employment Services Division of the Georgia Department of Labor as an Employment and Training Consultant.  Her areas of expertise are Program Management, Service Integration, and Staff Development.  During her residency in the Atlanta area, she has worked with countless organizations in providing quality resources and services to all sectors of the community. Her greatest passion is community outreach. She firmly believes empowerment is one of the greatest gifts that one can give to another.  In addition to serving with M.E.N.S. Wear, Inc., Katina is an active member of the Atlanta Urban League Guild, International Association of Workforce Professionals, and works with several other community agencies in the Metro Atlanta area.

 

 

 

Josette Scott

Bobby Dodd Institute, Atlanta VA Medical Ctr.-Transportation Specialist

 


Ms. Scott is a trained Administrative Professional with extensive experience in the area of medical office administration and systems support.  Ms. Scott is well organized, a team player with commitment to professional standards of Customer Service.  An implant from the Big Apple (Bronx, New York) has lived in the Peach State (Lithonia, GA) since 1989. 

 

Ms. Scott is entering her fourth year as a contractor for the Atlanta Veterans Medical Center.  For over 30 years Ms. Scott has held several positions in Management, Executive Assistant and as a Director with equally esteemed companies.  Ms. Scott is a long time member of Green Forest Community Baptist Church where she receives spiritual guidance and Holy Ghost Power.  Ms. Scott is a proud parent of three and grandparent of four, who loves movies, music and dancing.    

 

 

 

 

Gwendolyn Davis

MWI: Advisory Board Member

 


Gwendolyn R. Davis is the principal for CommunityWorks! public affairs, a project consulting practice that focuses on program development, public engagement and promotion services for agencies, businesses and institutions.  A veteran communications professional, Gwen has held senior positions in PR and external affairs across the corporate, non-profit and public sectors for more than 20 years.  Throughout this career, she has nurtured strong interests in socio-economic issues and community development in her work with AARP’s Southeast Region, the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism, the Atlanta Project of the Carter Center, and The Coca-Cola Company.  More recent independent work has included projects with the Atlanta City Council, the Atlanta Renewal Community, Fulton County Health & Wellness, Wesley Community Centers of the United Methodist Church, and Georgia State University’s Neighborhood Collaborative. Gwen earned a BA in English and Journalism at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and an MS in print and community journalism from Columbia University in New York City.  Although she is a native of Miami, FL, Gwen has called Atlanta home for more than 25 years. She is the proud mother of a daughter and son-in-law, who live in Brooklyn, NY.
